Supervised Play

Pre-requisite: Graduation from Puppy Kindergarten or Beginning Obedience class

Does your dog enjoy playing with other dogs? Are you and your dog both looking to have a fun time in a relaxed, supportive, safe environment? Then Supervised Play is for you!

Supervised Play is a 40-minute class designed specifically for those dogs who play well with others. This class is not appropriate for fearful, reactive, or aggressive dogs. Dogs must be at least 4 months to join and must be current on their vaccinations. If your dog does well at the dog park or doggy daycare, she will probably enjoy Supervised Play. The dogs will enjoy periods of off-leash play interspersed with fun games and activities for owners and their dogs to enjoy together. Playing games with your dog will help improve your relationship and will teach them to listen to you even around the distractions of other dogs.

The Supervised Play class runs for 6 weeks. The first night is required for people only (please leave your dogs at home). We will discuss canine behavior and communication with video and other visual learning aids, and you will learn how to read your dog's body language and understand what she is "saying". During the first week we will also discuss safe VS unsafe dog play and how to tell whether your dog is interacting appropriately with others.
